Pet Portrait Galleries

Have a look through the pet portrait commissions in the three galleries.  I work in oils, pastels and mixed media.

I am self -taught and started painting in acrylics but quickly moved to oils which I prefer. A high quality smooth canvas is used, which can be cut to any size needed. Paintings can be rolled to post easily, or posted flat if preferred. However, I also paint on stretched canvas, and canvas board, if the customer prefers this.

My pastel work is on pastelmat which is a lovely firm surface to work on.  Due to pastel drawings needing a little more protection than oils, all my pastel pet portraits are sent out with a double mount ready to be framed by the customer.

I do not frame the pet portraits unless I’m asked to. Choosing frames is such a personal thing and it is normally best for the client to do this. However, if I am asked for the portrait to be framed, I will discuss with you your preferences. I use a very good, local framer.

Mixed media work is done on a heavy duty canvas. As in my other art work, the layers are built up slowly. Thread is used instead of paint or pencil, and I use a sewing machine for this work.

I am gradually building up my portfolio,  although I haven’t previously taken photogaphs of all my work. Because of this my pastels and mixed media galleries are low, so I’m trying to work on these at the moment.

Finally, I hope you enjoy looking through my pet portrait galleries.  To keep in touch with all my news, exclusive offers, and latest additions to my art portfolio, follow my Facebook page.  Also, you may also get the chance to win the occasional free portrait!
